Ever since watching Jack Hanna as a youngster growing up, I have always wanted to work with animals. From bird watching and countless visits to the zoo most of my childhood memories are surrounded by the animal kingdom. To quench my thirst for more interactions with animals and nature I went to school to study agriculture. I experienced a side of life that many New York City high school students never even dream of..
I spent many of my summers of working on farms of different kinds, learning about different kinds of animals. My opportunities included working on pig, dairy and organic farms. I have been fortunate that throughout the course of my education I have had the chance to work with many exotic animals such as snakes, horses, goats and even water buffalos.
After graduating high school I wanted to continue working with animals. However NYC doesn’t provide many opportunities to do so. When I came across Running Paws in 2007 I thought it was a great chance for me to remain involved with what I love most. Running Paws has been a great place to work for anyone who loves four legged friends. I enjoy coming to work knowing that we provide a safe and fun environment for our dogs, and that we have a meaningful impact on their lives.
